Sometimes a painting is about the contrast of colors and gestures against an interesting sky. I'm often drawn to a dramatic sky that expresses the fluid gestures of palms. The pink bougainvillea in the foreground adds a splash of color.

I'm back in my studio since my return from Kauai and here is my first new painting! There is a serenity in this scene that is echoed by the peacefulness of the soft blue sky. A white bird glides by over the unbroken stillness of the water.
